The BigBrotherAwards 2025 take place on Friday, October 10th from 6 PM until 8 PM. This data protection negativity award is given to companies, organisations and politicians and presented in an interesting, entertaining and easy to understand way. Le Monde dubs them as the “Oscars for Data Krakens”.

Test your knowledge about the internet with the surfschein quiz by internet ABC — get your “drivers license for the internet” at digital week 2025!
The surfschein is a playful digital learning quiz. It provides a protected environment for kids, ages 5 to 12, to learn the basic skills for responsible and self determined interaction with the internet.
Because the quiz is not translated, this workshop will be held in German only.
In order for us to be recognised as a non-profit, we need to make changes to our statutes. We’re holding a members meeting for this on 18th September.

Learn soldering in a cozy setting with simple kits. You always wanted to know how you can solder LEDs and other components onto PCBs to create your own christmas tree? Then this workshop is perfect for you! No prior knowledge required. We provide everything you need.
In this workshop at digital week 2023 you learn how to build an interactive noise traffic light. The traffic light will visualize the loudness of the environment using an LED scale.
Additionally we integrate temperature and humidity sensors, so these values can be indicated too. You do all the wiring and electronics yourself. We will also explain, how the programming of the controller works. At home you will be able to measure the values of your environment.
In cooperation with Verbraucherzentrale Niedersachsen, the Chaostreff Osnabrück invites you to this years Digital Day on June 15th 2023. The focus will be digital sovereignty and IT security awareness. In small groups, you will have the opportunity to take part in these three workshops throughout the evening:

Simon from Nitrokey will answer these questions in his talk and tell you everything you need to know about securing your accounts. From hardware keys, SMS TANs, over one-time passwords, to password managers, various methods and their benefits will be covered.
During Osnabrück Digital Week 2022, we offer our senseBox:edu workshop again. In this workshop you can learn how to use and program micro controllers. Using the senseBox:edu, we guide you step by step through getting it to run, the basics of connectors, programming using the simplified environment Blockly and controlling sensors and displays. No prior knowledge needed! By the end you are able to program an IoT weather station or an IoT alarm system.

“I should really start encrypting my email and data / get away from WhatsApp / try Linux.” No more excuses! We will show you how, at our workshop at Verbraucherzentrale Niedersachsen.
We want to live in a world where female perspectives in tech are taken for granted. Therefore we meet for breakfast, chatting, networking and thinking about how we can learn from each other. We invite all humans that consider themselves women. This includes cis and trans women and non-binary humans, that see themselves in the label “woman”. Haecksen is a group of women interested and working in tech. Breadrolls, snacks and drinks are provided.
Data leaks, identity theft, government surveillance: Our tracks on the internet are subject to a wide range of daily attacks. We want to protect ourselves against unauthorized access of our data on the internet. We will show you how you can secure your browser, encrypt emails or hard drives and configure your smartphone correctly. Come by and do not forget to bring your your laptops and smartphones. This workshop by Chaostreff Osnabrück is organized in cooperation with Jugendherberge Osnabrück.
